Download: She Tells Me.mp3 (3266 kB) Please record a cover version of this song if you can! LyricsThis girl, she came from nowhere,And she's stolen my heart. She tells me she might be in love with me - And I love her right from the start Yesterday we were strangers, Now she tells me, "How close we are..." But the most wonderful thing - She tells me "Aah!.." She tells me she doesn't really know me, She tells me she's confused, She tells me I've got some special power That I shamelessly abuse She tells me we may regret it If we take it all too far - But there we go, and then She tells me "Aah!.." She loves the way I touch her, She loves rock-n-roll, She gives me kisses That go straight to my soul She tells me she'll always love me, No matter how near or how far, And I know she loves me when She tells me "Aah!.." ReviewsThese are some of the reviews I received on GarageBand site before it was shut down.basic chords but good feel Its a pretty standard blues, but i like your voice... It sounds a bit like syd barret the way you sing and the lyrics. I like it. And the she tells me ahh part is catchy... i would change the standard blues just a bit somewhere for less predictability and take this to the studio to be produced.. Good song - skullpuppy from Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 3Jun2010 Cool the guitar is very cool, catchy old school rock and roll. It's a shame you can't really get a feel for the depth of it due to your recording methods. I appreciate using the template of the genre you're playing in, but you sometimes are treading on too many cliches for the lyrics to resonate with me. You can sing well, but you sometimes don't deliver the lines with the variation they deserve, sometime this leads to the energy of the whole track dropping. Overall good cool sound, but needs a bit more punch to turn into the great track it could be - OurStolenWagon from Germany on 7Jan2010 Ah.... Old timey front porch feel. Guitar seemed slightly out of tune. The vocal mix should be a bit lower. Has a nice laid back feel. I like to hear this song with more instruments. Would actually be a nice blues song. Nice job. - petro275 from West Bridgewater, Massachusetts on 1Sep2009 now this is folk music i love the old folk sound - kind of like bukka white. the vocals are very interesting, as the accent here doesn't really fit in with the southern american folk movement. the lyrics are good - sort of a typical folk sound with the storytelling the melody fits well, but with this old blues sound, there isn't much you can do. i know you said no comments on the production, but i think the lo-fi sound actually adds to the old folk sound - ringofwillis from Sarnia, Ontario, Canada on 29Aug2009 I like this I like this song and vocal. Lyrics are good too. Classic blues and well done. - Kim_C388 from La, California on 23Aug2009 Rock me gently This little ditty has you swinging on a hammock and sipping a drink right away. It all so laid back! Just guitar and super dry vocal delivery. Like early Leon Redbone. It's great to listen too! Unique, individual song and style. I like the lyrics a lot. Nice song length as well. - SkyLoco from Canada on 23Aug2009 Special power Wake up in the middle of the night. A song playing in your head. Get out the guitar - plug into an amp- turn on the cassete recorder laying next to the bed and sing some funny lyrics. You keep it simple. This is great. No fancy window dressing. Just a basic song. And from that comes the essence. From the essence comes truth. From truth comes Art. - hillgruebel from Mukwonago, Wisconsin on 22Aug2009 That's what she said I'm immediately thinking Robert Johnson. If this song is to immitate the sound of Johnson's times I recommend the vocals be just as distorted and quiet as the guitar, if not, I recommend a different approach made by the singer to the song as the accent in the vocals sounds a little forced and fake. Oh, sorry, I just saw your 'no comments on the production' request. Let's see what I can do; Melody: The melody is very true to blues and so fits well with the chicken-wire guitar strings. Lyrics: Well, I can relate to everything she's telling you so you've hit the audience on the head with that one, which is no small thing for a musician! They would seem a bit strait and simple if it weren't for their setting up for the line 'ahh'. I appreciate the delicate balance. - Dillsworthy from Paris, France on 21Aug2009 |
